In 2022 alone, oil production gas flaring resulted in over 4 trillion 500 million cubic feet of carbon dioxide and 22 tons of nitrogen oxide. The first real-world study on methane leakage from gas flaring estimated that in 2022, oil production gas flaring worldwide released over 409 billion cubic feet of methane into the atmosphere. By addressing this issue, we can reduce climate-warming emissions equivalent to removing 48 million cars from the road.
